May 2024

Russell Bedford welcomes León and Aguascalientes practices to the international network.

Russell Bedford International has announced the appointment of two more Mexican firms as members of the global professional services network.

Russell Bedford León, previously called BTM León and originally known as Sanchez Obregón y Asociados, was founded in the 1970s and is based in León, Mexico’s fourth largest city, located in the northwestern state of Guanajuato.

The firm joins Russell Bedford from one of the top-10 global networks.

With a team of three partners and nearly 40 personnel in total, Russell Bedford León currently serves over 200 clients spanning the industrial, commercial, and service sectors. They provide a multidisciplinary offering of audit, tax, legal, customs, and accounting services.

In addition, Russell Bedford Aguascalientes has been a branch of Russell Bedford Mexico City for more than ten years. Based in Aguascalientes, 500km northwest of the federal capital, the firm was founded in 2010 originally as a two-partner audit, tax, and bookkeeping practice.

Having combined with a team from another substantial local firm, led by Rogelio Villanueva, there are now nine partners and more than 90 personnel at Russell Bedford Aguascalientes, making it one of the largest CPA practices in the vicinity. Adding to a full spectrum of tax, accounting, and audit services, they also offer a range of specialist skills, such as transfer pricing, valuation, and international trade; and serve over 350 corporate clients, including subsidiaries of foreign publicly listed companies and various Public Interest Entities.

Stephen Hamlet, CEO of Russell Bedford International, congratulated Russell Bedford León and Russell Bedford Aguascalientes for joining the network, saying “we are incredibly proud of the Russell Bedford Mexico national network, which is ranked in the top-10 in the country. The addition of these firms reinforces our commitment to providing exceptional services and expertise to clients in the region, as well as further enhancing such a significant internal network within our global organisation.”

Javier Jiménez, Global Board Director for Latin America and Managing Partner of Russell Bedford Mexico, added that “we are thrilled to welcome both Russell Bedford León, as well as the new partners and team at Russell Bedford Aguascalientes to the network. This move strengthens our offering and widens the scope for continued development throughout Latin America and beyond. We are now able to offer services to clients across 18 cities in Mexico.”

José Arturo Sánchez Castellanos, Managing Partner at Russell Bedford León shared his excitement about the firm's affiliation and said that “becoming a new member of Russell Bedford International marks an exciting moment for the firm. We look forward to expanding our connections and enhancing our capabilities as part of a leading global network.”

Héctor Raymundo Martínez Saucedo, Managing Partner at Russell Bedford Aguascalientes added his enthusiasm, saying that “we are delighted about the increased opportunities to further grow our reach and provide our expertise across both the Mexico national network and also as full members of Russell Bedford International.”
